History

The firm of Monteith & Sutherland Limited established in 1960, assumed the legal survey practice of J.C. Monteith which was initiated in 1928. In 1978 Monteith & Sutherland Limited became a founding partner in Photomap Air Surveys Limited of Toronto. Both companies are actively engaged in providing engineering, surveying and mapping services to government, industry and private clients. In 1993 Monteith & Sutherland Ltd. became qualified mappers and are preferred contractors for the Province of Ontario Land Registration and Information System (POLARIS)

Monteith & Sutherland Limited have 20 regular support and production staff including two Ontario Land Surveyors and two Professional Engineers with varying diverse experience. We have completed a number of specialized surveying services contracts throughout the Province of Ontario including mapping projects, hydrographic surveys, tunneling surveys and GPS control surveys. Locally we have provided legal surveying & engineering services on a continuous basis for the past 40 years to a large base of industries, municipalities and developers.

In February 1999 Monteith & Sutherland Limited formed Monteith & Sutherland Incorporated in Michigan. From our office in Troy, we are providing our full range of surveying engineering services.
